Hippos
It all started with a Jellycat hippo named Po that was and is my daughters very favourite plushie. She loved it so hard that when he started to deteriorate I thought I would be able to get a replacement as I couldn’t bare the thought of her not being able to have him with her. I was wrong. I scoured the globe for two years hunting for the right Po… to no avail. It turns out the hippo we have is very rare. So, I took matters into my own hands and deconstructed our little ragamuffin in order to recreated his pattern and sew another one. It was a success! She graciously accepted the new Po, and so I wanted to make a small batch of hippos to share with you, since Po is such a big part of our lives.
Each hippo has been made by hand, and is largely hand sewn. It was a labour of love creating such a complex pattern on a relatively small scale, and I’m so happy with how each one turned out. They are all made from luxury minky, with wool hand embroidered eyes, hair tufts and weigted legs and bum. This is a special offering, and I hope you love them!
